With 30 years of experience working as a therapist I bring a lot of breadth and depth to my clinical work and feel competent and confidant in working with clients presenting with a wide range of mental health concerns. I approach my work with clients from a Client-Centered perspective integrating cognitive-behavioral, brief-solution focused, and Interpersonal processing perspectives and techniques. I also like to engage my clients in existential thought to explore what provides meaning and purpose in their lives as unique individuals and integrate Logotherapy and other meaning and purpose based philosophies into my practice.
I hold a specific fondness and specialization base working with client’s struggling with addictions of various kinds, including substance use disorders. I have also worked extensively with clients presenting with anxiety and depression, issues relating to personal identity, including sexual, gender, and spiritual identity, grief and lose issues, and relationship difficulties and concerns.
I am a graduate of Clemson, University and The Ashland Theological Seminary and have past work experience in inpatient psychiatric hospital settings, full spectrum alcohol and other drug treatment facilities, university counseling centers, and private practice.
In my non-professional life I enjoy swimming, biking, running, competing in triathlons, playing guitar, violin, and drums, and spending time on the lake with my rescued greyhound, and best friend, Streak.
