Sacha Cheng
Counseling Intern, LPC
Hello, I am Sacha, and my pronouns are she/her. I am a PhD student in Counselor Education at The Ohio State University and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Ohio. My counseling approach draws from person-centered theory, narrative therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). I believe in the power of listening and authentic living, and I aim to help you find a healing path that aligns with your identities, values, and needs.
In our early sessions, I will take time to understand your story, including your concerns, cultural and developmental background, and intersectional identities, within an empathetic space.
Together, we will begin to make sense of the patterns in your thoughts and emotions through tailored and theory-informed perspectives. From this holistic understanding, we will build practical tools, such as emotion regulation and value-based
actions, to support your well-being.
I have experience working with adolescents, young adults, and older adults dealing with depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, relational conflict, and life transitions. As an international student and counseling clinician, I am especially passionate about helping my clients manage cross-cultural adjustment issues and challenge oppressive social narratives to reclaim their stories and sense of belonging.
